Wisdom tooth

Wisdom teeth are the third molars that usually begin to erupt between the ages of 17 and 25. Because, they are the last teeth to appear in the mouth, they often lack sufficient space and can emerge impacted, partially impacted, or crooked.

Without sufficient space, wisdom teeth can press on surrounding teeth, causing pain, swelling in the jawline, inflammation, and deterioration of other teeth. Impacted teeth can lead to infection, cyst formation, and damage to the jawbone.

Not every wisdom tooth needs to be extracted; however, a routine dental examination should evaluate its position and condition. Early surgical removal of potentially problematic wisdom teeth is crucial to prevent further complications.
